Wallingford Playfield Expanding

For those of you watching the reconstruction of the Hamilton Middle School (just South of the Wallingford playfield), you'll be interested to note that some additional park space is being created for the community, as well. The designs indicate an expanded "sunken garden" area (now the narrow strip between the Wallingford Playfied and the school's playground area) that will include a 50 - 60 person amphitheater area for school and community use. My Green Lake reports that Milk Carton Derby was a big success: Most notably, 500 pounds of food and $500 was donated to Northwest Harvest. It was a bit windy out (though talk about luck with the weather considering today’s rain) so we found it most exciting to watch the boats battle to stay behind the starting line until “Ready! Set! Street Repair on N Pacific

SDOT says: A contractor working for a private development will close North Pacific St to through traffic  between Meridian and Bagley avenues on July 14 and 15 to repair street pavement following work on underground utilities. The street will be closed from 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14 until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, to provide time for the concrete to cure.
