Old Firehouse

The Seattle Municipal Archives recently posted this old shot of the Wallingford Firehouse c. 1914 to the Wallingford Flickr pool: Now, of course, it's the 45th St Clinic. But look at those roads people. Anyone still want to complain about the city's plowing efforts this past winter?

Honey Bucket Update

We got our copy of the Wallingford eNews today, and our porta-potty questions have been answered. It sounds like Wallingford businesses have risen to the challenge and are covering the costs of the porta-potties that the city wouldn't: Our initial thought was that 10 potties would be adequate, and we could get 10 businesses to be "Porta-Pottie Patriots" on July 4th to pay for it. Truth is, with Baby Z now fully locomotive, eating out is dropping off our schedule. So we turn to you, Wallyhood readers: who can provide a…

Jump in a Lake

If the presence of all those triploids don't freak you out, maybe you'll want to take advantage of Sunday's Open Swim to take a dip in Green Lake: Seattle Parks and Recreation is still accepting registrations for the Green Lake Open Water Swim, a half-mile or mile swim that takes place on Sunday, June 28. Open water swimming is a unique activity in which swimmers can truly enjoy their surroundings, stretch out their strokes, and get into a rhythm over a…
