Block Sale!

No, not selling blocks, but a block full of yard sales. The neighbors up around NE 63rd Ave and 1st Ave NE are holding a block-wide yard sale tomorrow, Saturday June 13th. For a few more garage sales in the neighborhood, the folks at My Green Lake have offered to put together a list and map of garage sales in their neighborhood each Friday. We love the idea. If there's interest in Wallingford, we'd be happy to do the same.

Agressive Aggressive

This sounds terrible! Jan wrote: This passive aggressive behavior is getting out of hand. While at QFC someone sprayed the nice lady that sells Real Change with mace. Seriously, what is that about? And yet make note of a most singular phenomenon now taking shape across suburb and city. From backyard eggs to the family’s new favorite pet, the urban chicken is forging a fresh place in the pecking…

Chutney Juice

Chutney's in Wallingford Center (1815 N 45th St.) has opened a juice bar. They're selling fresh squeezed juices (carrot, orange, apple or pineapple) as well as lassi and other tasty drinks from a booth on their patio. On our way out of the Farmer's Market last night, Baby Z and Mr. Wallyhood shared a mango lassi, to both our great delight.

Free Movie Tickets: Away We Go

Not a Number Gifts (1905 N. 45th St) has about a dozen free passes for two to an advanced screening of Away We Go (written by David Eggers and Vandela Vida). The showing is tonight, Thursday, at 7 pm at the Guild 45th. We watched the trailer and found it heartwarming, whimsical and all that other stuff that seems to make for good date movies. Stop in, pick 'em up and enjoy.
