Hooch Update

Wallyhood commenters have spoken: Archive McPhee's is moving to Wallingford: lovely. It will displace the liquor store on the corner of 45th and Stone Way: OMG!!!!Don't worry, Wallingford, no need to stockpile booze quite yet. Cub Reporter made a call to the liquor store this morning and was told that the Liquor Control Board is in talks with several Wallingford property owners discussing relocation. So, the good news is that we'll still have easy access to our firewater. But the mystery remains:…

Bottleworks Tasting Tuesday

Sez the Bottleworks blog:You may have heard that Port Brewing/Lost Abbey's Tomme Arthur will be in Seattle this coming week. The man needs no introduction as one of the most well-respected and well-known figures in the American craft brewing industry.Well, we had not heard, and, to be honest, had we heard, we probably would not have remembered, since despite his being a man who needs no introduction, we had not heard of him. But then we are not part of the…

Aaaah! Earthquake! Aaaah!

OK, probably not as bad as the headline makes it out to be. The meeting will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM in room 202 of the Good Shepherd Center, 4649 Sunnyside Ave. North. The survey is intended to collect public feedback on the proposed redesign and rebuild of the North…

Archie McWallingford

Not since Wehrner Von Brown came to the States have we seen such a coup. Wallyhood was dutifully investigating this story, waiting until all the facts were in to report it, but prodding from tipster John has convinced us that we can not wait, we must go public now with the information we have, unanswered questions and all.Archie McPhee's is returning to Wallingford.Yes, that epic maelstrom of Bacon band-aids, Nancy Pearl the Librarian Dolls, remaindered Chinese test-pilot uniforms and one-of-a-kind Pez…
