The agitated parent crows continued their belligerent cries until said youngling managed to get itself back to safety.…

Fremont Fair / Solstice / HonkFest

It's a big weekend for Fremont and Wallingford's Gas Works Park this weekend, and the weather promises to be perfect. Here's what you need to know: The Fremont Fair is going on all weekend. Comparing this year's web site to last year's, you will find the design much improved, but the events and information largely unchanged. As it did last year, the Solstice Parade starts at 3 pm (not noon as in previous years). This is unfortunate, in some ways, because it…

Comments

I've been getting a steady stream of mail from people who are having trouble signing in to leave a comment on posts. I've been using a system called Disqus that is common across blogs, but does make things more difficult. I like it because it allows you to reply to specific other comments, rather than just having one long stream of comments, and also helps me manage comment spam. But, at the end of the day, if it's keeping people from participating,…

Illegally Parked Motor Homes

Patrick writes, in regards to "illegally parked motor homes": What happens when one of these vehicles catches on fire, blows up with all the propane and barbecue fluids on board and blows up across from Ivar's. The City of Seattle will be sued if people are injured and rightfully so since the city knows about this illegal activity and is doing nothing. Many of them do not even have current license tabs! We do not see this occurring in Laurelhurst, or…
