Disc Golf In and Around Seattle

Big Wheel Auto Parts (455 Stone Way North) is now an empty shell. In solid Wallyhood tradition, I’ve failed to do even the most basic investigation about why, but I can turn to Donn, who commented on another blog post:
The story I got at Big Wheel was that another auto parts type retailer was coming in. I got the impression it was an individual, not a franchise, but coincidentally …
Murphy’s has a comedy showcase, Wallingford Laughs, the second Wednesday of the month (that’s tonight, in case you’re having trouble counting Wednesdays, which I have trouble with sometimes, there’s no shame in that.) They’ve been getting a good turnout the last few months, and this month features Derek Sheen, plus a handful of other performers.
Every since the Giggles comedy club shut down (and then briefly re-opened as the Jiggles strip club (and then occasionally re-re-opened as Giggles again)), there hasn’t really been a place to hear comedy north …
Students had the opportunity to power wash the sculptures and prepare them for painting, to select the new color scheme, and of course…paint! The students demonstrated perseverance, incredible attention to detail and amazing focus! To date, 5 out of the 10 existing sculptures have been revitalized. The remaining sculptures will be completed in the fall of 2015 …

It’s not clear to me why the police took action now after many months of complaints. Maybe they finally relented to pressure from the Northlake Safety and Security Team. Or, if you’re more cynical, you could say they took action because it’s election season so some politician decided to respond to a citizen complaint for once.…
The cats, however, are down but not out. The Seattle Met reports that Wallingford will shortly be getting its own cat cafe, Seattle Meowtropolitan.
A cat cafe is not a spot where cats go for a bowl of flat white. Rather, a cafe that stocks cats like some coffee shops stock newspapers. They’re …
Wallingford’s only gay bar Changes celebrated its 27th year. Opened in 1989 on North 45th Street and still under the same ownership, Changes embodies all that you love about old Wallingford while at the same time being very new. I spoke with owner Floyd Isaac recently and I found his opinion on just about everything to be quite laid back. While many of us are worried about all the changes to the neighborhood, Floyd takes everything in stride. Here are the results of my interview with him. It has been lightly edited.
Q. You opened in 1989 in Wallingford. Why …
