I may regret asking this, and I reserve the right to ignore any loonies… I mean, people I respectfully disagree with… but….

As the owner and proprietor – such as I am – of a Little Free Library here in East Wallyhood, I wonder: Should I shut it down? Post warnings? Ensure it’s virus-free?

    What opinest thou, hivemind?

Here are some thoughts from the LFL.org itself:

Rather than shutting them down– how about a notice asking people ot be thoughtful and cautionary re their touching books given there is information re covid19 germs being viable up to 3 days. You could include to touch door handles w/ gloves on or you could put out handiwipes. People need o tread. Some missed the info re libraries closing. We were just informed of a week extension to stayathome and in yesterdays speech the gov included some evasive remarks from which one can infer we will be stayathomers even longer. Please problem solve instead cutting off a resource. ( c re C– written due to Marie)

Thanks, cathy! Or should I call you Ms Wonderful? 😉

The library is still open for ‘business’ as per usual. I’m thinking people can decide what to do for themselves.

Rereading your post, Bob…I think I misinterpreted your message. I thought it was testy but now understand more clearly. Thank you for maintaining your library!

Thank you Rob for keeping yours open when you posted. I am aware of one near me which has a closed sign on it. Is yours still open? Do you mind giving an address?

I have finished several books which can be shared.

It’s on 1st just north of 40th, on the west side of the street. Come on by! I notice we just got some new stuff in the last couple days.

(Marie, thanks for clarifying your comment – I didn’t *think* I was being salty, but then sometimes I’m the last to know. 😉 )
