There are several discussions about being afraid to go out in next-door.com. I asked because places have begun serving people in 25% capacity& outdoors. Given I drove by Fred Meyers yesterday and the entire parking lot was full many people are out doing things.. which creates some wonder and caution for me re going other places. We are caught in a conundrum. I will go to FM at the crack of opening for mu purchase! ( c re c)

No, not at all. I asked what are some bars and restaurants which can now be open for in person service. This would be a change. It is odd that I didn’t think of how this may reflect on the bar esp since I have had communication with them recently but , no. I wanted to know about a couple which I liked to go to. And this venue often has posts about ( changes- cross that out) new occurrences in the area, ( c re c)

?? She posts consistently and continually on Wallyhood.org. One of her last posts was asking about Kitaro’s. ( c re c)

Still a work in progress. We need editors to develop a policy which includes what they will do to a person’s account if that person persists in breaking rules. ( c re c)

    Hello,
I have not yet seen the article. I do work for SSD. I am aware there is a great deal of discussion re the best means of grading and how kids are affected. This is simply an unprecedented time. Thus there are many opinions, plans and objections from stakeholders. There will be (at the moment) SSD summer school, tutoring available and possibly some kids’ summer activity groups ( Boys n Girls Club, Seattle Parks Programs) might include some academic programs. Keep asking for more summer school. Ask at the school level for mini-programs, classes of 10 or so at a grade level. Keep asking Om Culture Center , Bn G Club, Kids Co. for etc. for academic support programs. Consider getting a nanny/tutor. However things do turn out once we get to school year 2020-21 teachers, parents and children are all faced with classes of kids who had extremely different options and support since 3/11/2020, our last day of school when kids were sent home without books and told “we will be back in 2 weeks”.

I do know one idea which was floating around was to have longer instructional days next year. Agree or not! Some adjustments will have to be made. Kids can not walk into next year’s grade, open up next years’ books and move ahead as though they all had last year’s full curriculum instruction.

More will be discussed and planned. You have avenues to provide feedback and ask questions re this year’s online and streamed instruction, grading policies from the teachers as well as to provide input to the school board as well as OSPI. Please speak up.

They are all closed now for the forseeable future. if you can handle waiting you can do the ‘chat with a librarian” feature. (c re c)

Frances, Could you clarify re your agreements? We should have them? There should be consequences? Name-calling not OK? ( c re c)

    Reply to Jordan,
So it has been some time since this topic was initiated in this forum in 2020. Have you come to some decision/s?

You and I have exchanged a few emails regarding this problem in the past. ( c re c)

Thank you Rob for keeping yours open when you posted. I am aware of one near me which has a closed sign on it. Is yours still open? Do you mind giving an address?

I have finished several books which can be shared.

    Jordan,
What will you do about comments and posts which break these guidelines? For example in a recent comment a poster called someone a name. ( c re c)

Rather than shutting them down– how about a notice asking people ot be thoughtful and cautionary re their touching books given there is information re covid19 germs being viable up to 3 days. You could include to touch door handles w/ gloves on or you could put out handiwipes. People need o tread. Some missed the info re libraries closing. We were just informed of a week extension to stayathome and in yesterdays speech the gov included some evasive remarks from which one can infer we will be stayathomers even longer. Please problem solve instead cutting off a resource. ( c re C– written due to Marie)

My guidelines are common sense and courteous. I am confused Marie, why you are asking about guidelines? You have repeatedly made fun of my comments and thoughts badly enough for me to complain to Jordan and also to say I might call advertisers about it. You responded with sarcastically.
