Wally Wednesday

Jordan Jordan March 11, 2009 4 Comments

We hope you’re enjoying the Wallyhood blog. Our goal is to create a better sense of community in our little ‘hood by covering the people and events near us. If you think we’re pulling it off, there are a couple things you can do to support us:

  • Spread the word: Let your neighbors here in Wallingford (and nearby) know we exist: www.wallyhood.org. For those people who don’t “do” blogs, you can have Wallyhood delivered as a single daily e-mail just by entering your address on the home page where it says “Subscribe”.
  • Send us tips: Truth is, we’re not “real” reporters. We’re not sitting on the police scanner, and because we don’t make any money off this, we don’t have time to scour the neighborhood for happenings. We rely on readers to tell us what’s going on. So send in the stories! New construction? New piece of lawn art? Yapping dog? Car prowler? Six-toed cat? Anything goes! E-mail [email protected]!

Finally, if you’ve got the writer’s itch, we’re happy to share these pages with you. Just drop us a line and let us know you want to write.

Thanks!

Mr. & Mrs. Wallyhood and Baby Z

Thanks for the blog! I’m probably late to the game but I just recently* discovered EveryBlock.com. If you aren’t already plugged into it, then it could help with your reporting. *Actually, I need to give props to a friend (who reads this blog) that told me about EveryBlock months ago but I promptly forgot the name of the website

    Know anyone with
    A) extra poppies in their yard? Mine didn’t blossom last year, and I need to reseed 🙁

    B) small koi ponds (or buckets)? Racoons ate mine *cry*

Thank you for running this blog. I am new to Wallingford. I found out about the blog from a flyer I passed, posted on a telephone pole, on my way to my studio at Gasworks Gallery. I just uploaded a few local paintings to your Flickr pool.
