Gypsy Trader

Jordan Jordan June 12, 2009 3 Comments

Sounds like new things are up at the old Gypsy Trader. Our new Lower Wallingford correspondent Chris W. sends in this report:
The old Gypsy Trader & Gypsy Java Cafe (now the Gypsy Cafe) at Stone Way and 35th is hosting a sidewalk sale this weekend, 6/13 and 6/14 from 9am – 3pm. They’re located in the original Archie McPhee spot, right across Stone Way from the Pacific Inn.

According to the Gypsy Cafe’s Facebook page, new owners Debbie Galassi and Ben Steele are selling items they inherited from the former Gypsy Trader consignment shop. Sounds like an excellent opportunity to drop by, grab a latte or breakfast sandwich, and say hello to our new neighbors — and maybe even pick up some random cool stuff for the house or yard.

We’re also excited to learn that the cafe is now selling beer & wine, and that they’re open til midnight on weekends.  Woo hoo!  A new menu is also in the works.  Can’t wait to report more on that later!

Didn’t know about the sale of the Gypsy Trader & Gypsy Java?  The Seattle Times wrote up a nice little piece about it last month.

That’s the place with a comic book store semi-attached, yeah?

Yep, except it sounds like semi-attached comic book store didn’t survive the ownership switch.

Cool. I haven’t been there for a while, I’ll have to check out the new management. Sad about the comic book store though. It was always empty so I’m not too shocked it didn’t make it through the change.
