Pirates and Pipsqueaks

Jordan Jordan August 17, 2009 3 Comments

Sounds like there’s some good old fashioned fun to be had this coming Sunday at Solid Ground:

Pirates and Pipsqueaks, an old fashioned carnival with old fashioned prizes for kids of all ages, will take place Sunday, August 23rd from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Solid Ground parking lot (1501 N. 45th St). Vintage carnival games will include Dunk the Pirate, Walk the Plank, Bean Bag Toss, Ducks in the Pond, Balloon Darts, Bottle Ring Toss, Giant Bubbles, and lots more. Take photos with the Seafair Pirates, see a real pirate ship, win fabulous prizes, enjoy live music, face painting, food and fun!

This exciting community event is sponsored by the Seafair Pirates, Not A # Cards and Gifts, The Lookout, Bliss Soaps, Trophy Cupcakes, United Site Services, William Meehan, and the Wallingford Chamber of Commerce. All proceeds will benefit services for homeless children at Broadview Shelter and Transitional Housing, a program of Solid Ground. For more information, call 206-299-2500.

While it sounds like fun, we honestly can’t fathom what they mean when they say “see a real pirate ship”. A real pirate ship? Maybe they mean a simulation.

Attention Deadliest Catch Fans!! Just confirmed that the Captain of the newest boat to join Deadliest Catch, Captain Lewis of the Incentive will be at our event! Come meet Captain Lewis, and buy a Deadliest Catch t-shirt (20% proceeds will benefit Broadview). Good possibility that other Deadliest Catch captains will be joining us as well!! Look forward to seeing everyone at the event!
