Auction Update

Jordan Jordan November 18, 2009 4 Comments

It’s been so great to see so many people donate and bid on local goods and services, all to help provide Wallingford seniors with a safe, healthy place to go during the days.

We’ve got one more item up for auction:

Professional Photo Session with David Moise

Professional photography and graphic arts teacher will photograph you, your family and/or your pet in your Wallingford home setting (or your friend’s Wallingford place). Fun guaranteed, along with digital photos on disk that you can print, share and display. Smile! or not. Starting price: $40

Don’t forget to check out the full set of auction items for stealing deals, which include:

  • A Dell D600 laptop computer going for $110
  • A romantic dinner at Avila for is going for $56. Trust us, that’s a bargain at twice the price.
  • Ease your way into winter with a professional massage, or give it is a gift to someone feeling the holiday stress. High bid is $70.
  • Come on, we know your plan: binge from Thanksgiving to New Year’s on turkey, stuffing, cookies, latke, ice cream and eggnog, then turn around in January and just work it all off. Now really, how well has that plan worked for you in the past? You got to get on a plan! A plan that starts with a paid membership at a gym and a personal trainer that can kick the chunk clean out of your butt. Two personal training sessions and a month’s membership at Fuerte Fitness, now going for the impossibly low price of $65.

So go on, what are you waiting for? All the money goes to a very worth charity. Get bidding!

    Hi,
I’m trying to bid on auction items, but I keep getting the message that my bid is invalid. I’m filling in the asterisked fields and pressing the bid button. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Diane — I was having the same problem — figured it out on my 5th try:

Don’t use a dollar sign or zeros; for ex., type “50,” not “$50.00.”

It would be great if instructions were added to the website above the bid field for each auction item to prevent precious dollars from not making it to our senior center!

Sorry folks are having trouble. This was the only auction software I could find, and I don’t have much direct control over it, but I’ll see what I can do.

If you can’t figure it out, e-mail the item and the bid and I’ll enter it for you. Thanks for your patience!
