Architecture-themed Wallingford Walk

Crafty "architecture" during the chickens & bees tour.

In May, I thoroughly enjoyed the Wallingford Walk featuring chickens and bees.  Next up?  Houses!  More specifically, Craftsman, Bungalows and More – Led by Al Elliott on Sunday, June 20th.

Sustainable Wallingford describes the tour:

Wallingford contains many fine examples of the Craftsman style of architecture that grew out of a progressive movement started in the late nineteenth century. The goals of this movement included helping people regain connection with craftsmanship and the natural world that were being lost because of industrialization. Siding, exterior design, interior design, choice of materials, garden design all worked toward these and other goals that nurtured the human spirit.

Meet up outside the Tully’s at the corner of 45th & Meridian on Sunday, June 20th at 1pm.  The tour is expected to take about 2 hours.

C’mon, we know you wanna nurture your human spirit!  If the architectural tour doesn’t do it (and we bet it will), spending part of a lovely Sunday afternoon chillin’ with some of your neighbors surely will.

We would have loved to do this, but it’s not the best day for it seeing that it’s Fathers Day. Maybe next time.

  2. Mimi

Hi Al, It’s Mimi your old old neighbor. How does one get on the Craftman’s walk? I mean the house? I live in a 1923 craftman house. been here 40 years. E-mail me. Thanks, Mimi

  3. Mike Ruby

Thank you, Mimi. Our itinerary will include a visit inside Mimi’s exquisite Craftsman home. If you were on last  year’s tour, you will be pleased to know that we are visiting different parts of the neighborhood this year and will see even more examples of quite outstanding Craftsman and Bungalow architecture.
