Wallyhood’s Reader Meetup

Margaret Margaret November 3, 2010 8 Comments

When I joined Wallyhood last year, I discovered one thing quick:  Wallywriters are a fun buncha people. I mean, there aren’t many folks who can collectively whip up a specialty cocktail featuring a small-sized Dicks’ vanilla shake mixed with Cointreau and then use that tasty treat as a springboard for brainstorming.

It’s been a lot of fun writing alongside my neighbors and, as the year passed, I’ve seen quite a few readers who join in our daily conversations. Many times I thought, “Hey, I’d really like to meet so-and-so and talk about what they wrote”, which got me to chatting with the Wallywriters, which in turn led us to brainstorm (during a cold Saki and Wallyhood Roll session at Rain):  let’s do a Wallyhood Reader Meetup.

So now, here’s where you come in:  We’re hosting our first ever Wallyhood Reader Meetup at Blue Star Cafe and Pub (4512 Stone Way N.) on Wednesday, November 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and we’d love to finally meet you in person and give you all a chance to meet the rest of you in person.  Join us for some drinks (on you) and some appetizers (on Blue Star, because they’re awesome), plus a fun-filled evening of in-person conversation. You’ll get to put some faces with the names you’ve seen, plus we’d like to chat with you about what you like and dislike about what we’re doing and how we can make Wallyhood even better.

But beware! We may try to rope you into becoming a Wallywriter, too.  We have our ways.  Bwa-ha-ha.

If you think you’ll come, please RSVP here by Tuesday, November 16: http://wallyhood.eventbrite.com/ so we can plan accordingly with the Blue Star.

See you then!
