Cannon In Your Pocket?

Jordan Jordan January 1, 2011 3 Comments

We get lots of “I lost my…” e-mails. We try to post some of them, but most we direct to the Forums. This one, though, well, we’ll make room for it. Zeek writes:

I live on 4016 Wallingford AVE W and recently had a large prop-cannon stolen out of my front yard. I directed a commercial for Klondike ice-cream this past summer (as in “What would you do for a klondike bar?”) that we had the cannon built for.

It’s featured shooting confetti here: http://vimeo.com/13764479

Ever since it has stood proudly defending our original-Wallingford house. But it wasn’t able to defend itself over the Christmas holiday when someone dragged it down 40th and left it by the west facing bus stop between Meridian ave and Burke ave where it was abandoned. The wheels were left in my front yard. A resident near there told me that while he was bewilderedly investigating it, a car pulled up and asked if it was for the taking and then took it. The resident seemed to think that the person who took the cannon lived nearby.

I would be forever grateful if you would be willing to use your Wallingford influence to help me find my cannon – attached is a picture of it on set. I’ve been a dedicated reader for the last few years and think you all are awesome.

Well, shucks, Zeek, we’d’ve posted this even if you didn’t say we are all awesome.

So, folks, anyone happen upon a cannon?

Arrrrr me hearty! Me and my mate’s will be keepin’ our one good eye out for this scallywag that took off with this prized cannon. They’ll be in for a good keelhaul when found.

I stopped by to look at it. It did look like it was out for the taking and it was a really well made prop too. As my family and friends are becoming known for dressing like pirates for the kiddie parade, we thought it would be a lovely addition to our pirate paraphanalia. Alas, I did not take it. I wish I had so that I could give back the treasure to it’s rightful owner! Bummer. I hope you find it!!!
