Wallingford Home Tour: January 9

Shannon January 3, 2011 Comments are off

The Wallingford Home Tour (canceled last September) has been rescheduled for Sunday, January 9th, 2011, from 11am-4pm. Tickets are $15 and children under 12 are free, and are now available for purchase at Tweedy & Popp Hardware (1815 N 45th St), Cutz Meridian Salon & Spa (4515 Meridian Ave N), and the Wallingford Neighborhood Office (2100 N 45th St. Behind Tully’s)

Never been on a home tour?  Here’s what you can expect:  Once you purchase your tickets, you’ll receive a map showing each participating home’s location (there are 8 this year).  On the day of the tour, you’re free to visit the homes in any order.  When you arrive, each homeowner will greet you and point out unique features of the house, whether its something that’s been in place for 100 years or something they’ve added.  In past years, we’ve seen an outdoor sleeping porch, an outdoor shower, a home previously featured on HGTV, and an impressive Hummel collection so vast, it would rival the Hummel Museum itself.

It’s a great day to meander, meet neighbors, and get a peek inside some really beautiful homes that make Wallingford such a great place to live.
