Wallingford Weekend – Celebrate Mom

Margaret Margaret May 5, 2011 3 Comments

Don’t forget, Mother’s Day is this Sunday, though I think we should celebrate moms all year long! O.k., maybe I’m pushing it, so I’ll settle for a weekend instead.  Here are some ideas to make the mom in your life feel special:

Saturday

2:00pm – 4:00pm: Take Mom for a bike ride –  Ride around Lake Union with Spokespeople. The ride includes a stop at the Center for Wooden Boats. For new, returning and reluctant cyclists. This 7.3 mile ride will be on the road in traffic and have some hills. Only steady rain cancels. Questions? Cathy 206-547-9569 or 206-713-6269 day of the ride.  Meet at Wallingford Playfield, near Hamilton Middle School.

Sunday

3:30-5:30  or  6:30-8:30: Treat your mom to a fine dining experience with a lively family feel at Sutra Restaurant. They offer 2 seatings. Please call early to make your reservation as they are likely to be fully booked.

Gift ideas:

Trophy Cupcakes is featuring their “Mom Approved” Lemon Raspberry Cupcakes all weekend. Or, you can still treat her to a Margarita Cupcake (fresh lime cupcake with tequila lime butter cream–yes, please!)

Sign her up for a Spa Day at Pharmaca. The Spa Day is next weekend, on Saturday, May 14, from 12pm – 4pm.  Ten bucks to reserve a spot for a mini facial or a makeover, plus they’ll have complimentary chair massages (lucky chairs), product samples, and raffle drawings.

Thanks, I’d tell you it’s “Little Wally Dude’s” but I couldn’t do it with a straight face!
