Folding bike tour of baked goods

Madi July 8, 2011 3 Comments

If you like biking past gawkers astride a funny folding bike, imagine the looks you’ll get in a peloton of folding friends. Join Cascade Bicycle Club this weekend for a leisurely ride of folding bike riders to Wedgwood and back.

Unfold your bike and tuck away a donut
Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 9:30 a.m.
Meet at the east end of the Gas Works Park parking lot

Bromptonauts, Dahonians, Birdyites, and folderators of any and all other stripes, join us for a leisurely, not-too-hilly jaunt to bakery heaven, the intersection of Top Pot Donuts and Grateful Bread. After a morning of wandering the back streets, we’ll return to Gas Works Park in time for lunch at Essential Baking Company for anyone who’s of a mind for still more baked delights. Rain means we skip the ride and go straight to Essential.

The only tragedy is that the riders will probably tote their small bundles of bike into Essential Baking Company rather than lock them to the on-street bike corral. I’d love to swing by the bike rack fish after the ride and see it infested with folding bikes.

If this will be your first Cascade Daily Ride, newcomer instructions so you know what to expect.

Ooh, Frankie, do you have a Strida? I hope you’ll take it to the ride and show those “normal” folding bikes what’s what. The neglectful copy was from the Cascade site, by the way 🙂

You also forgot Montague Bikes. They are actually are pretty normal looking though!
