Goddess Festival in Wallingford

Jordan Jordan August 8, 2011 2 Comments

This Saturday, August 13th from 11 am – 10 pm is the second of two (unrelated) music festivals happening in August in Wallingford at Meridian Park: The Goddess Festival. Spearheaded by Tara Shuttleworth (also the Wallingford Art Walk coordinator for the past year), it’s being billed as a fundraiser for local charities in addition to a rockin’ good time:
  • FREE and Open to the Public
  • Three stages
  • Local musicians, live art, theatrical performances and dancers
  • Over thirty arts, crafts and food vendors
  • Kid Zone
  • Fundraising through donation, beer garden, merchandise and silent auctions

Every neighborhood in Seattle has its own unique heartbeat. And with each beat one realizes how many amazing tribes call the city of Seattle home. On August 13th, underneath the full moon, Babette’s Events will present The Goddess Festival at Meridian Playground in Wallingford. The Goddess Festival will bring the tribes of Seattle together to create one inspirational heartbeat. This beat will demonstrate that through unity we have the power to heal and transform our larger community. Artists, Musicians and Healers will join forces on this day to move and shake the city of Seattle in an amazing fundraising event. The Goddess Festival will raise money for thirteen local organizations in the Arts, Music and Strengthening Community.

The line-up is extensive, including music, dance and comedy from Haiku-Chi, Aaron Daniel One Man Banned, Unsinkable Heavies, The Local Dudes, Role One, Nae Regrets, Bucket of Honey, Mean Recess, Screens, Gary Reynolds and The Brides of Obscurity, Ari Joshua & Friends, Music Factory Kid’s Showcase, F, Flip and Fly, Conversations with Signal Flags, Reverse, The Pilot Lights, Fallen Traitors, DJ Funkscribe, DJ Kalaka, DJ Matsui, Matty Bo, The BAHAR Bellydancers, Zumba with Fresh Fitness and Dance, Alessandra, Jack Shuttleworth, Jet City Improv, and The Storytellers (see the Goddess Festival line-up page for links to band web sites).

If you’re going, let your friends know on the Goddess Festival Facebook page or Twitter or something. If you’re interested in volunteering, contact  Tara at [email protected]

Anyone know if there’s a schedule available? The bands are all listed on the festival web site but no schedule yet.
