Super Sunday

Jordan Jordan February 4, 2012 4 Comments

Tomorrow is the big day people, the one you’ve all been waiting for: the day Madison Avenue unveils the greatest advertisements of the year!

Yes, tune in tomorrow for the finest in one-minute entertainment from Volkswagen, GE, Audi and more starting tomorrow, Sunday Feb 5th at 1 pm.

Also, there will be some sort of sporting event broadcast amongst the commercials.

Now, should you wish to gather with your fellow Wallingfordians to watch said commercials and sporting event, there are certainly opportunities.

Murphy’s Irish Pub (a Wallyhood sponsor) will be hosting a Super Bowl party featuring $5.50 for a shot of Jim Beam and a Tall Rainier, $7 Domestic Pitcher, $4 Bloody Marys and $3 Mimosas.

The Iron Bull, being a sports bar and all, no doubt will be a full house, too (although they didn’t respond to our mail asking for details). Kate’s Pub should be full up, and maybe the Publican? You tell us, where are you spending Sunday afternoon?

BTW, if you want to check out the commercials without the hassle of the whole football thing, they’re all on-line already.

You’re correct… 3pm here for the beginning of the festivities with kick off a half hour later. I got the time change wrong before, but roughly 3pm our time will do the trick for those tuning in or going to the bars.

For a small luncheon and the super bowl, I ordered shrimp etouffee from Gary’s Gumbo. He works out of the Sea Monster Lounge in Wallingford. It was more than great, we ate every little drop. He delivered it with his son Dillon right when he said he would. I would recommend him any time you want take out that is made with great care and taste
[email protected] PS My guests loved it and it comes with rice.
