The organizers of the soon-to-be Wallingford Greenway are making plans to throw a block party this summer, once the greenway is complete. Wanna help them plan one? Here’s the skinny:

Hello Wallingford folks,

As you know, SDOT is currently working to complete our first Greenway
in Wallingford! What better way to celebrate than to throw a summer
block party?

Join us next Thursday, March 29th at 7:30pm as we start to plan for
this block party. All are welcome to come brainstorm what food, music,
activities, etc. we would like for this event. The plan is to meet
upstairs at Chocolati on 45th (http://g.co/maps/93nr6).

If you are unable to join us next Thursday but are interested in
helping out, please let me know! Also here is more information about
working with the city to have a block party:

@Nancy I think the people meeting will decide on day/date/month of the Greenway Par-tay. Summerish I’d guess. Should be fun!

It would be awesome if they could get Green Day to play the Green Way party.

I am not sure where to ask this, so I shall here. I recall a few years ago a large Gasworks clean up day.. neighbors met there probably a Saturday in morning, the city staffs and Mayor had presence, Starbucks graced us with coffee and pastries, we had bags, gloves, trashclickers and a very fun involved time. When might this be again?

That was the day after the Fourth of July celebration. There is another clean-up day, though, that is organized by the Wallingford Chamber:
The Chamber’s 3rd Annual “Operation Beautification Wallingford – an Earth Day Celebration” is set for April 21st from 11AM -2PM at the Wallingford Center.

Wow, people you couldn’t have picked a worse day. On the 16th, there’s the Fremont Fair not to mention a multitude of other fairs.

Why not pick the 9th or some other date that doesn’t interfere with events held by our neighbors? (and for which we are already signed up to help.)
