More Confessions of a Traffic Engineer

peterkoonce1Seattle Neighborhood Greenways presents “More Confessions of a Traffic Engineer” with guest speaker, Peter Koonce. Koonce is the Signals Manager with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) and he’ll explain why traffic signals, lighting, and “Level of Service” have a huge impact on safe, healthy streets for people — and how we can work with existing codes to make our streets even safer.

The presentation will be held at the Mosaic Coffeehouse (4401 2nd Avenue NE) on Monday, March 18, at 6:30pm (Doors open at 6:00p.m.) Childcare is available for this event. Please RSVP here.

More from the Seattle Neighborhood Greenways folks:

Koonce will be giving a NACTO (National Association of City Transportation Officials) Pedestrian Bicycle workshop earlier during the day in Seattle.  Brilliant, creative, and unafraid — we’re really looking forward to Koonce’s insights in Seattle!  See Koonce’s recent University of Oregon talk: “Confessions of a Traffic Engineer: the Misuse of Level of Service and its Impact on Active Transportation” http://vimeo.com/52765087
