Cheese Wizards Say ‘So Long’ To Wine World

Margaret Margaret May 24, 2013 6 Comments

Cheese Wizards have announced that they won’t be serving up at Wine World & Spirits any longer. The mobile purveyors of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches had been doing business outside of Wine World since October, but the lack of visibility from pedestrians and cars on 45th, along with the Wednesday “Happy Hour” and Saturday midday time slots made the location impractical for them.

Tom Saxbe, co-owner of Cheese Wizards tells us, “We’ve started a couple new lunch services in Ballard at Trupanion Pet Insurance, and our success there has reiterated the fact that we can be more successful during weekday lunch hours as opposed to the times we had been coming to Wine World.”

Saxbe did mention, though, that he and his business partner/brother Bo really like Wallingford, and adds, “We’d love to find a new location where we can serve lunches in the area. We’ll have an opening on Wednesdays from 11-2pm in the next couple weeks, and if any of your readers has knowledge of a business that would be willing to host us we’d be most grateful. We think that there are spots where we could be very successful, so we’d love to stick around in a more practical location.”

Have any ideas for a lunchtime spot for Cheese Wizards? Let us know in the comments section.

What about that space where the Bi Bim Bop truck used to be, near Uptown? That seemed very visible and there was parking.

The woman running it was never clear on why the Wallingford Food Pod failed; after that Halloween party a couple of years ago it just never came back. I agree, though, that if the owner is amenable the Uptown lot would be perfect.

any chance you could grab a spot in the parking lot at Wallingford Center? Or the parking lot just behind old Tully’s? Don’t leave Wallingford!

yeah, never even saw it… thats a shame.
how about anywhere on 45th, not behind a large building.
wallingford needs more food options, one that carts can fill during the lunch hr.
