Jacqui alerted us on Twitter that Paron’s Closet in Wallingford Center was closing its doors; so we went in on Monday and spoke to store manager, Ashley, who confirmed the sad news. The consignment shop will indeed close on Wednesday, July 31.

Joan also shared with us a letter sent to consignees by owners Kimberly Holmes and Bev Ward:

To Our Consignees and Friends

After almost four years in business, Paron’s Closet has decided to close our doors. We can’t fully express our deep gratitude for your business and support. Working with each and every one of you has been nothing but an absolute pleasure.

Our last day of business will be Wednesday, July 31.  If you would like to collect any of your items in our store (whether they are expired, no thank yous, or consignment we currently have hanging on racks) we ask that you email us at [email protected] so we can pull your items and set them aside for you.  You must pick these items up by close of business Monday, July 22.  Any items that are not picked up by close of business Monday, July 22 will become the property of Paron’s Closet.

At this time, we will not be accepting any further consigned items.  You may continue to use your store credit during this time.  Any credit that remains unused after July 31, 2013 will become null and void.

Our store fixtures will be for sale on Craig’s List if anyone is interested.  You can also contact either Kimberly or Bev via email at [email protected] if you are interested in any of these items. We cannot accept store credit for any of these transactions.  Delivery is up to the buyer and cannot be taken from the store until July 31, 2013, unless negotiated otherwise.

We are deeply saddened to be closing our shop and having to send this email.  One of the greatest joys has been building a relationship with each of you and we truly appreciate your patronage and loyalty to Paron’s Closet.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to come see us or give us a call at 206-695-2455.

Thank you again for your business.

Sincerely,
Kimberly Holmes
Bev Ward

Tried shopping here once or twice. Prices were just way too high. Better deals on better quality clothes on EBay…
