Springtime in Wallingford

Yeah, we know it’s summer, at least, according to the calendar; but it’s never too late to admire the spring blooms in our neighborhood. Wallingford resident, Emily, captured some of Wallingford’s prettiest springtime flowers, and she sent us this note with a link to her photos:

I have been doing a photo project this spring that I’ve been calling “Spring Time in Seattle”.  Most of the photos are flowers from Wallingford yards, and so I wanted to share them with my neighbors.

The photo album is here: http://erbonzo.smugmug.com/Nature/Spring-in-Seattle-cell-phone/ These photos were taken with my cell phone’s camera, which has its limitations.  On the other hand, it has the virtue of always being with me and being light enough to carry even while running. (Some of the best photos take advantage of early morning light.)

So thank you, Wallingford, for cultivating such beautiful gardens!

Beautiful photos! Thank you for posting them. What kind of cell phone do you have? I think the pictures are great quality. Am particularly interested in the one capturing the shadows of branches of the tree in the water because I take similar scene shots with my cannon and don’t get that quality.

@Penny: It’s a little Sony Xperia. What kind of Canon do you have?

If you shoot scenery with a cannon, it is not going to look so great, that’s just how cannons are. You’re lucky if that’s the only trouble it causes.

My goodness, these are so pretty!! I’m especially impressed that they were taken with a cell phone camera. You are extra talented. Thank you for sharing!
