Dump Run!

  • Post author:

Attention Wallingford: have some junk to haul to the dump? Do it this weekend! Otherwise, it’s about to get a lot harder.

The North Transfer Station (aka Wallingford trash dump) will be closing for two years as of 5:30 pm this Monday January 20. Seattle Public Utilities will be replacing the old facility with a “more modern and efficient facility” over the next two years.

While construction is underway, you are encouraged to use the new South Transfer Station facility at 130 South Kenyon St in South Park.

Curious what the new station is going to look like? There are design presentations available on the North Transfer Station Rebuild Project website, including the design of the new park to be built at 35th and Carr

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
