The city sent this notice today:

Roosevelt High Martin Luther King Jr March tomorrow morning

March could cause slowing in the U District during the peak drive time

Tomorrow, January 15, over 200 Roosevelt High School students will take part in the Roosevelt Martin Luther King Jr March prior to attending school. The participants will gather at Husky Stadium at 6:45 a.m. and begin marching at 7:15 a.m. The marchers will travel from Husky Stadium moving west on NE Pacific Place; west on NE Pacific Street; north on University Way NE; west on Cowen Place NE; north on 15th Avenue NE; west on NE 66th Street on into Roosevelt High School.  Seattle Police Officers will escort the students as they will be walking on one side of the street. Morning commuters may encounter rolling slowdowns along the march route. The Seattle Department of Transportation advises drivers to allow for extra travel time through the general area. The march is expected to take roughly an hour.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
