The Invoking
DVD Pre-release Party
Monday, February 17, 2014     7:00pm

Invoking-Release-posterScarecrow Video is proud to announce the exclusive opportunity to be a part of the DVD Pre-release Party for the award-winning, locally-made, indie horror/thriller, The Invoking (formerly titled Sader Ridge) on Monday, February 17, 2014.  DVDs for the film will be available in advance of the February 18th street date and to add to the revelry, the cast and crew will be on hand to sign them, and chat about the making of the film and all things horror.

The Invoking, which was shot in Seattle, WA and Red Bluff, CA, is the first feature length film by The October People and director Jeremy Berg.  After inheriting a house from the family she never knew, Samantha Harris (Trin Miller) and three friends head to rural Sader Ridge to inspect the property. Soon after arriving, Sam begins to experience horrific visions of savage brutality and unspeakable evil. Plagued by the sinister forces closing in around her, Sam descends into a waking nightmare when the demons from her past refuse to stay buried any longer.

The Invoking has won multiple awards including Best Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Music Score at the 2013 Dark Carnival Film Festival in Columbus, Indiana, as well as the Audience Award at the 2013 Seattle True Independent Film Festival.  Horror-Punks.com named it the Best Horror Film of 2013 and named D’Angelo Midili the Best Actor of 2013.

Come on out, join the party and get a jump on everyone else in getting your signed copy of The Invoking.  In attendance will be Jeremy Berg (Writer/Director), John Portanova (Writer/Producer), and the stars, Trin Miller, D’Angelo Midili and Brandon Anthony.  Beer and snacks will be available at VHSpresso.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
