Saturday: Recycle Styrofoam, Clothes & Small Household Items

Susanna Susanna October 12, 2016 2 Comments

donate-shop-change-a-life-graphicRainy days and time for fall decluttering!

Bring your donations for Goodwill and those Styrofoam chunks and peanuts, and even bubblewrap and shrinkwrap to this collection event sponsored by the Wallingford Community Council.

It all happens on Saturday, October 15 from 1 pm – 5 pm at the church parking lot behind Dick’s Drive-In on NE 45th in Wallingford.  Enter on Second Avenue NE into the parking lot of Seattle First Church of the Nazarene.

Here are the guidelines for donations to Goodwill.

Due to space constraints in the Goodwill truck, no furniture larger than a coffee table will be accepted, nor any non-flat-screen TVs larger than 19″. Flat-screen TVs of any size will be accepted.

All of these items will be accepted by Styro Recycle.styrofoam-dumpster

A huge thank you to Seattle First Church of the Nazarene for making their parking lot available for this event.

Your donations support the Wallingford Community Council’s participation in Waste Management’s THINK GREEN Reuse and Recycling Challenge.

Thanks to everyone who came out in the rain with their contributions! Wow, there were a lot of people who have been saving up their styrofoam, we were surprised by how much was collected. Thanks for keeping all of it out of the landfill!!!

So, before we fill up a truck and take it to be recycled, if anyone needs packing peanuts, bubble wrap, air pillows, thin foam for cushioning breakables, or styrofoam coolers with lids, contact me at [email protected] and get some for free.

Wallyhood needs you!

This community blog is all volunteer run, and we welcome articles from everyone in the Wallingford community. Something on your mind? Have a story to share? Please contact us at [email protected] today!
