The House of Julie

Christie August 24, 2017 1 Comment

Experience a unique variety show this evening August 24th from 7:30-9:30 pm in the Chapel Performance Space on the fourth floor of the Good Shepherd Center.

The hostess, vocalist, interviewer, and entertainer of the night is local chanteuse Julie Cascioppo.  Julie builds community by bringing together talented people including visual artists and performers. Tonight’s performance showcases local artists at an event she describes as “a cross between the Dinah Shore Show and Pee Wee’s Playhouse”

“It’s a cross between the Dinah Shore Show and Pee Wee’s Playhouse” – Julie Cascioppo

The show will include performances by jazz singer Andy Shaw and Elaine Bonow, a ballet teacher by day and jazz singer by night. Der GoGo Boots will be laying down some ambient, visually stimulating music to groove to.  The flyer indicates Dylan, Julie’s 8-year-old co-host, and martial arts master will be there to entertain us.

There is a reception following the performances with snacks, a great way to mingle with neighbors on an August evening.  Who doesn’t love snacks and new friends?  The event is by donation only (a suggested, appreciated donation $5-$20) but Julie says that “no one will be turned away!”.

Sounds like a blast to me!

Was there – a little uneven (no clue what the last act was doing) but a fun evening.
    Thanks Julie
