Coronavirus by Zip Code

Ben Robinson Ben Robinson April 2, 2020 4 Comments

Mike Ruby pointed out the King County Coronavirus dashboard that shows zipcode level data in King County.  Our zip code currently has 4 deaths from COVID 19 as of March 30th.  Our sympathies go out to those that passed, and everyone who has tested positive.  Mike’s note accompanying his email follows:

King County reports every day the results of corona virus (Covid-19) testing and the number of those who have died from the virus by zipcode. The results for the 98103 zipcode point out that this is not just some problem off in Kirkland but is a real presence right here in Wallingford. As of March 29, King County reports that there have been 442 residents tested for Covid-19 (8.26/1,000) and of those 50 tested positive (11.3%) . Four of our neighbors died from the virus. No other zipcode in Seattle has a higher number of fatalities and the rate of positive tests is among the highest in the city, at 1.5 times the city average. Keep Calm and Wash Your Hands.

Stay safe and healthy everyone.

This information is so helpful when all one does all day is worry…facts can help calm things down, or at least color in some of the lines in all the fog. I appreciate you posting this!

5 deaths for our zip have been at Columbia Lutheran Home according to their news page here: https://columbialutheranhome.org/news-events/

March 31: Thirteen residents, currently in isolation, have tested positive for coronavirus. Multiple residents exhibiting potential virus symptoms have tested negative and many who have tested positive are improving! It is with great sadness we share with you that four of our beloved in-house residents and one hospitalized Columbia Lutheran Home resident have passed away.

As of April 6 the number of positive results in 98103 has increased to 66. This represents a doubling time of about 11 days, which is quite hopeful although not marking the end of the road. It means our neighbors are doing a good job of social distancing and holding the rate of spread down.
