I’m very worried by Nicole Thomas-Kennedy. I’ll be voting for Ann Davison for City Attorney. Thanks for the chance to hear the candidates for other offices so we can all make informed decisions. It always pains me to hear people say “I don’t know anything about these candidates” when this sort of event is happening in neighborhoods across our city. Avail yourself of these wonderful opportunities to learn.

Ann Davison’s proposal to round up homeless people and put them in a warehouse on Harbor Island is what I find worrying. She will not be getting my vote.

You really don’t have to worry about that at all. No one’s going to ask the city attorney to draw up a plan for how to house the homeless. So while it appears that The Stranger has given you a severely distorted picture (quelle surprise!) of the plan she put forward years ago when running for the council, that’s immaterial.

Yeah, “The Stranger.” The policy was on Davison’s now-scrubbed website. And if you think the city attorney has no say in how unhoused people are treated then you don’t remember Mark Sidran.

Actually I dug up Davison’s old web site before I wrote that, as irrelevant as it may be, just because the story sounded off. There isn’t any plan to “round up” anyone. I have the text here and can quote from it, but all I can find about rounding people up is “”.
