Another Break In – 45th Stop N Shop & Poke Bar

Megan Dulgar Okabayashi Megan Dulgar Okabayashi March 7, 2022 2 Comments

ANOTHER BREAK IN —  MORE DAMAGE

While out for a morning walk a few minutes ago, I passed by the 45th Stop N Shop & Poke Bar  that we spotlighted in a Wallyhood post  just 10 days ago. My heart sank when I saw two police officers mid-response and felt glass crunching beneath my feet. I spoke briefly to the Stop N Shop owners, who were busy cleaning up damage and making phone calls. They shared that this is the 5th break-in over the last handful of months, and this time, it was worse…a vehicle drove into the front door, ruining not only the glass, but also the doorframe, which will be costly to replace. The owner suspects the break in was motivated by cigarette theft.

Police were on the scene and as I passed them by, they greeted me and asked how I was. I mustered a one-word reply “sad”, to which they both responded in heart-felt agreement.

WALLYHOOD CAN HELP!

We can support our local business by patronizing it a bit extra now, as they work to replace an expensive doorframe and glass on both sides, as well as lost inventory (and I can imagine waning trust in humanity). If you need a bottle of wine, a soda, or some snacks (they have an impressive array), please consider patronizing the Stop N Shop to help our neighborhood businesses feel the support of the Wallyhood community.
