Roy Zimmerman will be in concert at the Wallingford United Methodist Church this coming Sunday evening (September 24) at 7 pm. WUMC is located at N 42nd St and Bagley Ave N. Donations at the door. Last year his concert in Wallingford was a sell out, so circle your calendar and get there early.
Roy Zimmerman is a folk singer who specializes in satirical songs. The hilarity is definitely pointed at the right so be warned if that would irritate you. Otherwise it is infectious and will have you in a giggle fit. If you’d like a taste of Roy, check out the video page on his website, particularly such hits as “Hannity Tonight” or “The Liar Tweets Tonight”. Roy co-writes these songs with his wife Melanie Harby and whoever wrote the original music he has hijacked (just like Woody did).
When Roy comes to a city like Seattle he says that he is not preaching to the choir, he is entertaining the troops. The rest of the country can follow him on You Tube, with some of his songs heard by more than 140 million viewers. He’s been at this for more than 30 years, so he has sharpened his rapier to a fine point and you’ll know who he has skewered.
