This just in: Pacific Northwest Shop will be featuring live music from A.J. Shay on July 17th.

We’re fortunate to have A.J. Shay performing at our store on Thursday, July 17th as part of Wallingford’s Third Thursday event from 4 pm to 7 pm. His songbook on acoustic guitar spans many years of classic and soft rock, blues, jazz, and folk.

A.J. has played guitar his whole life. His career as a biomedical engineer and small business owner took a back seat in 2011, when he connected with an incredibly talented songwriter and guitarist, Joey George. They formed an acoustic duo with a unique sound and style of popular covers and originals. Over the years, A.J. has performed at festivals and community events, as well as at popular watering holes and eateries. He has enjoyed hosting open-mic nights and performing at “living room concerts” for music aficionados who thirst for original songs in an informal setting.

The North Beach/Blue Ridge area of Seattle is his summer home away from his other home in West Palm Beach, Florida. He says, “I love Seattle. I love the people and everything about this city, and I’m happy to support this community event.

“One never ‘retires’ from the music scene,” says A.J., who continues to play at backyard gatherings for friends and neighbors, and occasionally in commercial settings. “Having been fortunate enough to experience success in my professional and business endeavors, there has never been an experience as personally rewarding as playing and performing music.” A.J. believes that music “is one of the few art forms that gets the endorphins flowing, puts smiles on faces, and brings different people together to sing, dance, and rejoice with an ageless common goal—HAVING FUN!”

Swing through Wallingford on Thursday and stop by the shop to enjoy A.J. strumming tunes from 4 pm to 7 pm!

Third Thursday Sip and Shop events will continue through September.
