Hear ye, hear ye! Welcome to the Wallingford Art Walk 2026!
Wallingford Art Walk is returning this spring and summer, starting on the evening of April 4th, and continuing on every first Saturday through October. This year, the event’s hours will be extended until 10 pm to appeal to the neighborhood’s nightlife denizens. The plan is to set up tables on the sidewalk in the 2100 block of N 45th Street—that’s a key late-night location near the bars Changes, The Octopus Bar, Murphy’s Pub, and Sea Monster Lounge.
“This will be the second season for the Wallingford Art Walk. It’s a completely outdoor show, and very artist-focused,” says Jupiter Bacchus, one of the organizers of the event. “I’m more of an artist than an organizer, so this is a collaborative effort with the artists who join, to help shape the best possible market for us.” For example, this year’s extended hours were suggested by the participating artists. “It’s been interesting to see how the artists get to shape their environment and better understand how to support artists in the community,” Jupiter adds.
Right now, there’s an open call for artists for the full season. There are no fees or commissions, as the goal is to be accessible to all artists. Reach out to Jupiter on Instagram (@wallingfordartwalk) for more information. Artists can sign up in advance or simply show up on the day of the event. Artists need to bring their own tables and any other vendor supplies they will need. Since the event will go on until after dark, table lighting is suggested to enhance the displays. Buskers and performers are also welcome to join in, and Jupiter has begun reaching out to nearby businesses to encourage them to offer specials on Art Walk nights. The goal is to make this event something special for the Wallingford community!
