Yoga in the Park Returns to Gas Works Park on May 21st

Seattle’s popular Yoga in the Park series is returning for its sixth season, bringing free weekly wellness events to Gas Works Park and Woodland Park. This annual event, organized by Yerbana in partnership with the Center for Suicide Awareness, is a community-focused program that has grown into one of the largest weekly wellness gatherings in the Pacific Northwest, attracting over 1000 people each class.

These 18 weeks of community gathering will take place every Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm, starting on May 21st and continuing through September 17th. Most events will be held at Gas Works Park, 2101 N Northlake Way, with a few exceptions to be held at Woodland Park. Check the schedule for details.

Not only will there be yoga classes led by instructors from studios across Seattle, there will also be live DJs and music performances. The event also offers a platform to showcase local businesses, food vendors, fitness brands, and health practitioners. One of the missions of the program is to make wellness accessible and inclusive for everyone.

The program also emphasizes mental health and community connection. In 2025, Yerbana became an official division of the Center for Suicide Awareness, a nonprofit organization focused on mental health support and suicide prevention. Event organizers describe the weekly gatherings as more than just yoga classes, calling them a “community mental health initiative at scale.”

The events are free, and no registration is necessary, but the suggested donation of $15 and sponsorships help keep the program running and accessible to the public. Come for one class or the full season, by yourself or bring a friend. If yoga is not your thing, there are other ways to stay involved, such as volunteering or making a donation to the cause.
