The Wallingford Community Council continues to play a strong role in the community such as the recent Tenants’ Rights Bootcamp. As with most players in local Seattle politics, the Community Council also has its detractors.

Now is your chance to get involved with the Council and have your say in its future. However, you will have to act fast to vote in the election for officers and directors at the meeting on May 17th.

Some more recent arrivals to the neighborhood may not realize that Wallingford Playfield was designed by community volunteers and funded through several matching fund grants from the Department of Neighborhoods. Over 300 families participated from 1998 through 2013, led by the steering committee of Friends of Wallingford Playfield (FoWP). Crazy shit (CS) was happening early Saturday morning, and I only learned about it when I was in the midst of it. What is the best way to keep informed when CS is happening? Are their good resources available for these sort of situations?
