Every spring we do a round-up of Community Supported Agriculture providers that deliver to the Wallingford area. What with the Wallingford Farmers Market shuttering for the winter this past week, we thought it worth mentioning that some CSA’s do keep going year round.

Seattle Tilth’s Fall CSA is an extension of their summer share, and still features a weekly box of “full of fresh, delicious, 100% local, ecologically grown produce,” with one deliver per week throughout November.

Thanks to all who came to Wednesday night’s debate and filled out your ballots! We received 35 ballots back after the debate. The vote for who won the debate was 14 for Johnson, 8 for Maddux, and 13 said it was a tie.

UW’s current master plan dates to 2003 and the University is looking to update it. The master plan includes transportation, parking, new buildings, energy needs, and green space. When done there will be an epic Environment Impact Statement plus a pretty map that the university will develop towards.

Both Michael Maddux and Rob Johnson say Mike O’Brien is the city council representative they most resemble politically and neither is interested in pointing out differences with the other candidate.  They’ve both generally endorsed HALA and Move Seattle and neither wants to point to an issue where they differ with their opponent. Both are wonkish hard workers that are 30-something and live outside of Wallingford.

There’s a new park going in on Lake Union between Recycled Cycles and Agua Verde. It’ll be called Portage Bay Park and will feature “small gathering areas, a picnic spot, informal recreational opportunities, hand carried boat access, natural shoreline habitat, and interpretative and educational elements.” It would be better still if it had a rope swing, but lawyers.

It’s no pocket park- it’s a fairly large stretch of land that connects to the park next to Agua Verde. It’s being designed now, and should be built and open to the public by 2018:

It’s a wide open race for Seattle City Council District 4, with Rob Johnson and Michael Maddux each working to represent our neighborhood on city council. District 6 is O’Brien’s to lose, but Weatbrook is hanging tough and forcing him to think locally, so that race is also fun to follow. When you want the government to do something (or stop doing something) odds are your district candidate is the one you’ll be asking, so don’t be an endorsement zombie, see what the candidates have to say!
