Tuesday, November 7, is an election day. Among the offices up for grabs is the District 4 city council seat being vacated by Alex Pedersen. District 4 encompasses part of Wallingford, the University District and areas north of the U District including Roosevelt and Wedgewood. Surviving the primary and heading now into the general election are two candidates: Ron Davis and Maritza Rivera.

Wallingford Local Returns to Farmers Market on Wednesday

The Wallingford Local radio program, produced through a joint effort of Historic Wallingford, the farmers market and SPACE 101 FM, has been airing on the last Wednesday of each month live from our farmers market since May. In June, Julie and I were invited to talk about Wallyhood, and last month, I was back to help host a trivia contest. Ravenna Creek Walk

The Freeway Estates Community Orchard is a community garden started in 2010. Located east of Green Lake alongside the west edge of I-5 and just south of Ravenna Boulevard, the orchard is known for their annual Cider Fest and Plant Sale. Now, they are sponsoring a guided walk down Ravenna Creek.
