“Echoes of a Lifetime” portraits displayed at Wallingford Community Senior Center this summer

Local artist Savvy Dani has completed eight portraits of Wallingford and other local area elders as a part of her “Echoes of a Lifetime” project, which has been awarded a grant from the Office of Arts & Culture. Savvy has worked closely with Wallingford Community Senior Center participants over the last several months for the portrait project, which includes short interviews with the subjects about their lives.

Savvy’s powerful work will be on display at Wallingford Community Senior Center beginning next week through the end of September. …

Wallingford Community Senior Center is excited to feature members of the Seattle/Bellevue PFLAG Speaker’s Bureau on Weds. Feb. 25^th at 2 PM, to give a presentation designed to help grandparents understand issues facing their Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender grandkids.

“What to Do When the Grandkids Come Out” will feature stories from members of the LGBT community as well as their families and friends. Questions are encouraged at this educational event.
