Wallingford COMMUNITY Senior Center is offering inclusive programming in June! We hope you’ll join us for these events and more! Here are some highlights:

Pancake Breakfast – This Sunday, June 1st 9 AM – Noon. All are invited to join in community while enjoying a hot, freshly prepared breakfast of pancakes, French toast, ham, vegetarian sausage and more! Adults $5, Kids $3. Advanced registration requested.

GiveBIG for Wallingford – May 6th

Tuesday, May 6th is the fourth annual GiveBIG event, a 24-hour on-line charitable giving event hosted by the Seattle Foundation.  Donations will support many nonprofits to make our communities greater, fight social injustices, and give those in need a helping hand.

This is our opportunity to step up and make a difference – to help the causes, communities, and people we care about.  Like, for example, two important nonprofits in Wallingford’s own backyard, both neighborhood-based and primarily serving our local community.

Wallingford COMMUNITY Senior Center will feature a variety of great programming in May. Here are a few highlights:

Interested in Arts & Culture? WCSC features two programs on May Day (May 1st) which might be right up your alley!

Outing to Northwest African American Museum – Thursday, May 1st, 12:30-3:30 PM. View the exhibit “Pitch Black” and learn about Washington’s black baseball history. Who played baseball where? Neighborhood Appreciation Day is February 8th! 

Neighbor Appreciation Day began in 1995 when Phinney Ridge activist Judith Wood suggested that the City designate “a special day to celebrate the goodness in those around us and to reach out and strengthen our bonds to each other.” Mayor Norm Rice proclaimed the Saturday before Valentine’s Day as Neighbor Appreciation Day. Wallingford Holiday Ornaments

Wallingford is decorating for the Holidays!

Members of the Wallingford Chamber of Commerce joined local “recycling maven” Barb Burrill to hang Holiday Ornaments made of recycled materials along NE 45th this past weekend. Sponsored in part by the Think Green Recycling Challenge, the decorations were made by children at several Wallingford elementary schools:

Business along 45th in Wallingford, from Stone Way to I-5 are teaming up to provide a fun & spooky Halloween for Wallingford neighbors & families!

This Thursday, 10/31, from 4 PM on, visit your neighborhood stores and businesses for Trick or Treat! Participating businesses will post an orange sign to let you know how late they will be handing out treats.
