The Wallingford Community Council will hold an Urban Village, Seattle 2035 and HALA informational meeting on:  January 20th, 2016, 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Center, 4649 Sunnyside Avenue North, in the Chapel on the 4th floor.

The Wallingford Community Council meets this Wednesday, December 2nd, at 7:15 PM in Room 202 of the Good Shepherd Center, 4649 Sunnyside Avenue North.

Paul Willumson announces a meeting on the Ship Canal Water Quality project being undertaken by Seattle Public Utilities and King County. To contain sewage overflows, a large underground storage tunnel would be built from Ballard to near N 35th Street and Interlake Ave N. (see Wallyhood previously)

School Design Advisory Team for Lincoln High School

Seattle Public Schools will be renovating Lincoln High School and it will re-open as a permanent high school in September of 2019.

Construction Manager Mike Finnegan invites volunteers to join the School Design Advisory Team (SDAT) to work with the architects to craft concepts and specifications for the new program. There will be 6 formal meetings of the SDAT on Thursday afternoons, 3:30 – 5:30 PM, at Nathan Hale High School beginning in January and ending in March.

Vince Lyons, 1943-2015

Long time Wallingford resident and neighborhood advocate Vince Lyons died on October 29th at the age of 72 from cancer. Obituaries can be found in the Seattle Times and the Daily Journal of Commerce.

Vince worked as an urban planner for 40 years. He was manager of the Design Review program for the Seattle Department of Construction and Land Use (DCLU), now the Department of Planning and Development (DPD), for 29 years.

The Wallingford Community Council meets this Wednesday, November 4th, at 7:15 PM in Room 202 of the Good Shephard Center, 4649 Sunnyside Avenue North.

Greg Hill presents an analysis of the “Seattle 2035” Comprehensive Plan revisions. The current proposal completely modifies every section of the present Comprehensive Plan. There would be major impacts to Wallingford, particularly within the Residential Urban Village boundaries. Where: Waterway 21 (the wooden viewing platform located between Stone Way and Gasworks on N. Northlake Way).

Why: Wallingford’s various waterways are wonderful features of our community and the Wallingford Community Council is making the public waterways a regular item in its monthly meetings.  Your input is vital.
