Recycling Challenge February Update: We’re # 2 !

The results from the Think Green Recycling Challenge for February are in, and Wallingford's Friday North route slipped into second place. Our diversion rate lagged behind that of Friday South, represented by Rainier Beach Community Club, by a mere .06% . The last day of the entire Recycling Challenge contest was March 30, so all of the garbage, recycling, and food waste that is going to be weighed has been weighed, so there's nothing more we can do there.  Results for…

It's crunch time for ten neighborhoods competing in the Think Green Recycling Challenge. The contest ends with waste collection on Friday, March 30, your last chance to get the heavy stuff into your recycling and food waste carts and go skimpy (but of course) on garbage. No Garbage Pickup Today

From Seattle Public Utilities as of Saturday AM: Normal residential collections to resume on Monday, Jan. 23. Neighborhood road conditions prevent safe collection of delayed residential garbage, recycling, and food and yard waste today, Saturday. All customers who did not have their solid waste picked up during the past week may set out double amounts for their next regularly scheduled collection at no extra charge. Most commercial and apartment customers will have waste collection service today or Sunday, Jan. 22.
