Unless another horrendous weather event shakes things up, it is planned to power wash and install vinyl wrapped artworks on three utility boxes on N. 45^th during the week of December 9^th. To celebrate, a Community Gathering is scheduled inside the Wallingford Center, where Trophy Cupcakes once stood, on Saturday, December 14^th from 10 a.m. to noon with family friendly activities and light refreshments. The building planned at the site of Wallingford’s only field of fenced-off wildflowers, where the storied Guild 45th Theatre once stood, has undergone its final design review.

On October 21, the Seattle Design Review Board met with architects from Clark | Barnes who presented their final draft for the currently unnamed multi-family building at 2115 North 45th Street. This online meeting was a follow-up to an initial design review in February, where the architects presented three designs, none remarkable, but one solidly preferred over the other two. There was a strong turnout at last week’s hearing on the future of Wallingford playfield. Both sides spoke well; the problem was no one was listening. Side A’s supporters burst in to wild applause while Side B sat arms folded in stony silence. When Side B spoke, the favor was returned.
