Best Non-Jhanjay Vegetarian Options in Wallingford
I struggled with this post as there’s not a lot of data to back up the opinions here and I’m really not looking to hurt local small businesses by pitting one against another. On the flip side, a review that doesn’t do comparisons isn’t that helpful or interesting, and our family has eaten at most of the local places and has opinions. In the end, I wrote it as though giving somebody advice, but keep in mind it’s just the view of one cranky middle aged vegetarian with an untrained palate:

Folks, this weather, this weather we’re having right now, is why we put up with Seattle weather the other nine months of the year. I swear, I spend all winter thinking to myself “as soon as the weather comes around, I’m going to be outside getting stuff done”, then the weather turns all sunny and beautiful and I say to myself “no way am I going to waste a beautiful day like this working, I’ll get stuff done when the rains come”.

Tracy Marcella sent in this announcement of a new pop-up pastry and juice bar operating out of Satay (1711 N 45th St) on Saturdays:
Marcella’s Juice and Pastry will be open weekend mornings at Satay in Wallingford from 8:00-11:00 A.M.
Beginning this Saturday, March 22nd, Marcella’s will be serving up a small variety of organic, made-to-order juices alongside a rotating selection of artisan breakfast pastries. Pastries will be baked daily by precise hands. Croissants, bacon-cheddar scones, and cinnamon brioche rolls are just a few of the fresh baked goods that will be available.

The Pagliacci Pizza location on Stone Way at N. 40th St. (4003 Stone Way N.) has transformed from a tiny take-out spot to a sleek ‘n snazzy dine-in restaurant, complete with a new pizza slice bar. White Moustache in Wallingford
White Moustache Urban Adventure Company hosts all-inclusive eating tours for individuals or groups. The company features various themes to choose from including “Streetfood” or “Cupcake Safari” and for $200, a couple can eat and drink their way around the city via tour bus.
Recently, White Moustache did a mash-up called “Musical Plates” that combined a foodie tour with indie band Goldfinch. They created a promotional video highlighting the tour which also features Wallingford’s Satay and Cantinetta.
