The Wallingford Community Senior Center is back at Fremont Mischief Distillery for the first time since 2019 for our Fall Reception. Historic Seattle, the city’s top preservation advocacy and education organization, has awarded Historic Wallingford its 2023 Community Advocacy Award!

Each year, Historic Seattle hosts the Preservation Celebration to support its mission to save meaningful places that foster lively communities. At the event, honorees are also recognized with awards for their achievements in historic preservation in categories such as Best Preservation Project or Outstanding Stewardship.

On Saturday, October 14th from 10am -1pm, you have the opportunity to lend a hand to clean up the neighborhood. Colleen Kurke, operating as Street Keepers, adopted N 45th from I-5 to Stone Way via City of Seattle Adopt- A- Street program to tend. A new bakery will soon be coming to town in the old Sweet Shop Space on 45th Street next to Mr. Gyros between Thackery Pl NE and Latona Ave NE. La Liath Bakery has been up and running for seven years, but it will soon be opening its first brick-and-mortar shop in the Wallingford neighborhood. Lá Liath is a British Isles bakery, focused on items popular in England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales and they are planning on having an array of sweet and savory bakery items for sale.

Colorectal Cancer Alliance and local allies host second annual Seattle walk October 7

Marking its second year walking loud in Seattle, the Colorectal Cancer Alliance is hosting the annual Seattle Walk to End Colon Cancer on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Gas Works Park. In its inaugural year in 2022, more than 620 people walked to reject the stigma, stop the silence and cancel colon cancer.
