Bomb squad follow-up

No frickin’ way. They blew it up.

Phinneywood reports:

Update 11:50 a.m.: The suspicious package has been blown up.

Mike Veitenhans just told us (at 9:40 a.m.) that the bomb squad has closed off part of the trail around Green Lake because of a suspicious bag found on the trail.

The bomb squad has closed off the trail near the Bathhouse and the tennis courts on the west side and is using a robot to open the bag.

On an unrelated note, several residents of northwestern Wallingford report sneakers, gym socks and tennis balls mysteriously raining from above.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same.
