Inside Passage

As evidence by the previous post, there seems to be occasional confusion about the boundaries of Wallingford; specifically whether Tangletown, the area north of 50th to Greenlake, is part of Wallingford or part of Greenlake.

There should be no confusion. Tangletown, you are we.

To celebrate the inclusion of Tangletown in Wallingford, we take a Tangletown break and point you towards a reception hosted by Nancy Merrill (known to many for her spearheading the planting of literally hundreds of trees throughout Wallingford) at Hiroki‘s today, Friday Feb 27th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.

She’ll be showing off her latest work, Inside Passage (right) and you can enjoy some of Hiroki’s amazing desserts while you’re at it.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
