Babalu break-in?

Just heard from Twitterer Cherrrylll that there was a break-in on 45th:

@wallyhood Do you know anything about all the break in’s on 45th? They tried to get into babalu.

Anyone have more details?

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

    I did see a couple of cops talking to someone and generally looking at a side door at Babalu yesterday morning, probably around 9:30. They’re not early risers over there at Babalu.

    Not about Babalu, but Le Boucherie or whatever it is called a few stores down from The Erotic Bakery was broken into the night before last. Guys made off with a few cartons of cigs and not much else. Lars the owner and a friend of mine took his wife out for her birthday, usually he’s there until 3 AM or so. This apparently happened sometime before 2 AM. The bar next door was closed but Darik the owner was inside at the time. He didn’t hear anything. Shame about Lars, he’s a pleasant cat. Please drop him some business as a consolation prize.
